[... Sousei shakes his head, after a brief moment of thought.]
No. Merely tired.
[Definitely tired.
But... when he thinks about it, even if he would've liked to be able to save himself... the first time he was rescued, it was a good thing. This time? It must be for a reason as well. How can he possibly be bitter about that?]
I can hardly regret... something that saved both of our lives.
[... Well, that's fair. Also yeah, they gotta go back to the dorms because what else are they going to do? They need to sleep and brace themselves for another week of murder.]
...If you are certain, that I shall accept that. A few hours of rest will be necessary to continue to find ways to undermine this game.
[Back they go! Jae-ha doesn't mind watching over Sousei for a time, it'll give his mind something to focus on so that his sleep schedule isn't absolutely destroyed.]
Ah, how can you start a revolution if you're going to fall asleep into your soup?
[Wistfully but - he understands what needs to be done.
Though when they return to the bed chambers, they'll find -
Gi-gan's name has been replaced with Jae-ha's on the name plaque outside the bedroom door.]
[ . . . Jae-ha just shuts his eyes then, moving to open the door as if to move on. There have been plenty of insults to his Captain in the past few days. It curls around his heart dangerously, stokes the fire in him that so rarely inches toward violence.
[In her bed...? This is just a shitty situation in general. He's looking from the bed to where he's been sleeping (on the floor with a pillow), and drags a hand down his face.
But - Jae-ha seems to relax at that, then going to walk over back to the doorway. When he sits down it's... less elegant than he'd like, more of a slump than a proper sitting motion.
It feels like he really does have the weight of the entire world upon him.]
[It's not comfortable, sleeping like this. He has so much on his mind too--but Sousei is a soldier, and he's used to turning off when need be, so that he can snap back into duty when necessary.
And so, after a few brief moments of focusing on settling himself, Sousei will slip into a very quiet sleep.
. . . Regardless, Jae-ha will quietly be on his guard as Sousei sleeps. He rests with his back right against the door, listening in case anyone wants to test their luck, in case the amount of blood that's been shed hasn't been enough for them. It gives him time to think... about Gi-gan, about Sharpay, about everything that he's so suddenly lost.
He's not alone in this room... but it's enclosed, quiet, away from anyone that he doesn't already innately trust.
It's the most comfortable place he's had access to all weekend.
He'll wait, however long it takes Sousei to wake up.]
[As promised, despite not having slept since Thursday, Sousei sleeps for exactly five hours and then wakes up, sitting up promptly as if wide awake (spoilers: he is not wide awake, but it's muscle memory helping him now).
He does at least allow himself a stretch, and his hair is rumpled, so he's not totally a robot.
[Jae-ha is only going to get away with this because Sousei is absolutely still half asleep and just kind of mumbles some sort of assent as he waves a hand, standing up and.
Starting to make the bed.
Oh my god I hate that I'm typing this myself in murdertown.]
[He was totally running on autopilot and he only just then properly wakes up, between Jae-ha's fingers messing with his hair and also the hand over his.
He pauses.
Blinks.
Ah... he has not gotten enough sleep at all this week.]
... Hm. [He snorts briefly with some good humor, at least, at his own expense.]
I suppose that answers the question of if dragons must also sleep.
[... Definitely pushing his luck. Sousei yanks his hand back immediately, frowning, and then proceeds to yank Jae-ha's ponytail on his way to sit by the door.

[Sousei looks more amused than anything though.]
There are worse fates than that. And now, it would seem, our fates are tied together rather garishly.
[It was not Subtle.]

Are you disappointed?
[not that there were a lot of other options
but]
no subject
No. Merely tired.
[Definitely tired.
But... when he thinks about it, even if he would've liked to be able to save himself... the first time he was rescued, it was a good thing. This time? It must be for a reason as well. How can he possibly be bitter about that?]

You're not wrong. If it means more chances.... I'll take it, whatever it was that granted it to us.
[But - ]
If you're tired, you should rest. Do you need someone to stand watch?
no subject
I imagine you must also be tired.
[Likely even more so than Sousei; he's not the one who lost someone very important to him.]
I will be fine, if you require rest.
no subject
Jae-ha shakes his head.]
Whether I like it or not, I got some hours in on Friday morning, remember? So - you're welcome to have some sleep before me.
[ . . . ]
I still - have a few things on my mind.
[they're probably headed toward the dorms anyway, to give this thread some direction]

And then he sees hat nameplate, mouth closing immediately, lips pressing into a thin line. Ah. That's...
He does not like that at all. It happened so fast.]
no subject
And then going to see the nameplate.
And pausing.]
... like she was never here - is that it?
no subject
[As if removing Gi-gan's existence from memory, or trying to.
His lip curls.]
Disgusting.
no subject
But he keeps those thoughts to himself.]
... you should rest now, Sousei.
no subject
He only needs a few hours.
The floor's probably fine.]
no subject
Jae-ha is going to take that pillow from the floor and put it on the bed, staring directly at Sousei as he does it.]
no subject
Fine.
Fine!!
Whatever!!
He'll move towards the bed!!]
no subject
But - Jae-ha seems to relax at that, then going to walk over back to the doorway. When he sits down it's... less elegant than he'd like, more of a slump than a proper sitting motion.

They're doing great here.]

Nice.]
no subject
Soldiers.
[Jae-ha just says that under his breath, laughing faintly as he does. He moves to stand then and - ]
I'm going to fix your hair.
[Because it gives him something to do after five hours of Thinking.]
no subject
Starting to make the bed.
Oh my god I hate that I'm typing this myself in murdertown.]
no subject
anyway
Jae-ha is just going to laugh a little bit as he does fix Sousei's hair but also places his hand over Sousei's before he continues to fix the bed - ]
Do you think I don't get a turn?
no subject
He pauses.
Blinks.

Because with that hand over Sousei's, he's going to then take that hand and bring it up so he can kiss the back of it.]
When I do, I promise it'll be dreams of you.
no subject
Stop being a weirdass loser.]
I would rather you not, quite frankly.
