[The trouble with Hades children is that they're prone to holding grudges. It's their fatal flaw and it's something Nico himself has to work through a lot. As it is, he takes the hot cocoa and there's a quiet "thanks" even though he doesn't say anything after that. He settles for leaning against whatever nearby space there is to think this through.]

And I would never do something like that to Kyouka. So really that just proves the point that there couldn't possibly be good intentions behind the act because any reasonable person would realize it's a terrible thing to do to someone. Especially when we're already in a situation against our will.

I assume it might have to do with what happened in the last war. One partner who didn't tell the other partner what they were doing and that led to the death of one of the Crafters. If they're trying to prevent that they would do everything possible to make sure we bond and remain truthful to one another.
But I'm not sure it's working. Some people find their partnership dysfunctional either way.

Sometimes good intentions can be muddled somewhere in the middle if executed by clumsy hands.
