... I suppose. I cannot say I like it--the thought that their consciousness is trapped in some sense until this entire farce is over does not sit well with me.

But perhaps it truly will be something we can make the best of.

[Hrm...]

If she has any information on how we can properly bring them back, I would ask that. Otherwise, my concern still lies with finding a way to end this that does not involve following their carefully laid plans.

[WHICH IS HARDER TO ASK ABOUT.]

Still, your captain is wise. Any advice she has to give will surely be useful.

It may be...

[...SIGH.

This entire situation is So Much.]

I'm afraid nothing I've experienced has prepared me for the mechanics of receiving letters from the dead.

I suppose so... Perhaps I will also send a letter, then, to see what I can learn.

[Eh.]

The more information we have, the better.

That seems wise. There are certain tidbits of information we may wish to get through the censor; if we have our own code, it will be easier.

[Or they'll get the whole letter censored, who knows.]

We should begin building that as soon as possible.

[That's not a code at all.]

Don't even consider it. I will tear it up, and that will make the entire thing a waste.

[A beat, and:]

A simple shift cipher may well work. If the two of us are the only ones aware of what the shift is, then it will be easy enough to decode.
